The new releases bring the sound of two highly collectible Overdrive Special-style combo amplifiers from IK’s private vault into the hands of guitarists through AI-powered modeling.
These amplifiers, valued at more than $300,000 combined, represent two sought-after eras of an iconic circuit design. Using TONEX V2 AI Machine Modeling technology, IK has recreated their expressive clean tones, blooming sustain and smooth, vocal-like overdrive—sounds that would otherwise require a six-figure investment.

The TONEX ONE Double Special Limited Edition is a collector-focused hardware release, limited to just 1,000 units globally. Crafted in Italy, the pedal features a custom vintage-brown finish and comes preloaded with 20 exclusive Premium Tone Models not available in the standard collection.
In addition to the onboard tones, users unlock the full Double Special TONEX Signature Collection within the TONEX software. The package also includes the ODS Legends Signature Collection, which adds 20 more Tone Models captured from four additional Dumble-style amplifiers. The Double Special TONEX Signature Collection itself includes 40 Premium Tone Models captured from two historic Overdrive Special combo amplifiers. The collection also includes full rigs featuring classic front-end boosts modeled after a gold Klon Centaur, a TS10 and a JHS Morning Glory, recreating the stacked tones often used to push these amps into singing sustain with added midrange focus.

The two modeled amplifiers represent different moments in the evolution of this celebrated circuit. A late-1970s export model delivers an open high end, blooming midrange and highly touch-sensitive response, producing shimmering cleans and smooth overdrive. A refined 1980 version tightens the low end, improves transient response and increases articulation at higher gain levels, while maintaining the cascading clean-to-overdrive character and harmonic complexity that made these designs legendary.
Both amplifiers were captured through custom open-back cabinets fitted with period-correct speakers. Multiple microphone pairings were used to preserve everything from focused punch to spacious studio depth, resulting in a collection that transitions naturally from dynamic rhythm tones to sustained lead work.
