Top 10 US Cities to Find Casual Sex Partners, A New Study Reveals

Casual sex dating app, Casualx, recently shared the results of a new study, revealing the most popular cities for casual intimate encounters between consenting adults. The study analyzed the geographic locations of the app's users in the U.S. to determine the nation's top ten cities where no-strings hookups are most likely to happen.

Not surprisingly, New York comes in at number one for easy hookups, with Los Angeles just losing out to The Big Apple as the place for casual sex in the US. Next was Chicago, followed by Houston and San Diego, all of which boast swinging singles scenes.

Bachelor party hotspot Las Vegas was next, with summer party capital Miami not far behind. The Lone Star state achieved another showing on the list with San Antonio at number eight, while Philadelphia and Orlando featured at nine and ten respectively.

So what was it that pushed these cities ahead of the pack when it comes to casual sex? It could be the freer and more liberated atmosphere that pervades in these places, or it could be the thrill and excitement of the local culture.

Casualx co-founder and CEO Michelle Li has another theory, citing how all the areas on the list are popular tourist destinations in the United States. Li explains that popular travel destinations tend to provide a bigger base of individuals who prefer brief, non-committed relationships over traditional dating and marriage. Li also noted that highly populated urban centers offer a better environment for a casual hookup, as much of the nightlife and atmosphere is geared towards men and women who are interested in short term sexual encounters.

"We found that most of the top 10 cities are popular travel destinations attracting the most travelers," she said. "It shows a connection between traveling, exploring the world, and casual sex. It's the thrill and excitement of being somewhere new, coupled with the thrill and excitement of hooking up with someone new."
