Apple introduces iPhone Air — impossibly thin, remarkably powerful
Apple announced iPhone Air, the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever, combining breakthrough design with pro-level performance. Built with a strong titanium frame and precision-milled internal architecture, iPhone Air delivers stunning durability, all-day battery life, and the latest iPhone innovations in a form factor that feels almost unreal to hold.
iPhone Air debuts a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion up to 120Hz, offering vibrant visuals, smooth scrolling, and peak outdoor brightness of 3000 nits — the brightest iPhone display yet. The front is protected by Ceramic Shield 2, now 3x more scratch-resistant and anti-reflective, while the back is covered in Ceramic Shield for the first time, making iPhone Air more durable than any previous model.
Powered by Apple’s most advanced chips — A19 Pro, N1, and C1X — iPhone Air delivers faster performance, console-quality gaming, on-device AI, and the most power-efficient architecture in any iPhone. With smart software optimizations and iOS 26’s new Adaptive Power Mode, users get fantastic all-day battery life.
The new 48MP Fusion Main camera provides the equivalent of four lenses with superb low-light performance, while the updated 18MP Center Stage front camera introduces a wider field of view, group-aware framing, and Dual Capture for recording with both front and rear cameras at once. Together, these systems bring professional-quality photography and 4K HDR video to the thinnest iPhone ever.
iPhone Air also features eSIM-only connectivity, support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and a new Action button for quick access to tools and Camera Control. With its sustainable titanium design, 100% recycled cobalt battery, and fiber-based packaging, iPhone Air moves Apple closer to its 2030 carbon-neutral goals.
iPhone Air will be available in four finishes — space black, cloud white, light gold, and sky blue — starting at $999 (U.S.) for 256GB, with 512GB and 1TB options also available. Pre-orders open Friday, September 12, and availability begins Friday, September 19.
