Infiniti Concept Cars: Q30 And Q50

Infiniti has a longstanding reputation for excellence in motor vehicle manufacturing and has been under the spotlight at many a car show.  This year, Infiniti showcased several of its brand new concept cars. Among the Q50, the QX60 and several others, the one that stood out the most was the new Infiniti Q30.

Infiniti

Infiniti is a subsidiary of the Nissan Motor Company and is their luxury vehicle division.  The company originally began selling cars in 1989 in North America and has expanded to feature over 250 dealerships in more than 15 nations.  Many of the Infiniti models are not sold in Japan, however a lot of them also have Nissan equivalents for the Japanese market.  Over the years, Nissan has had several concept vehicles which have stirred up quite a buzz, including the 2005 Kuraza and the 2012 Emerg-E.

Concept car

Just to get one thing straight, a concept car is a car used by a company to showcase new styles and technology and are used as market research tools as well as marketing gimmicks.  The original idea of the concept car is credited to Harley Earl who worked for General motors and popularized the idea with Motorama shows in the 50’s.  While many cars never make it onto the production line this is not always the case.  Some iconic cars which made it from the show room and into production include the 1998 Volkswagen Beetle which premiered in the 1994 North American Auto Show and the Porsche 918 Spyder which was a concept in the 2010 Geneva Motor show.

Q30

Infiniti showcased its new concept car in September of this year in Frankfurt.  The Q30 is an amazing premium compact sedan which has been designed to compete with vehicles such as the BMW 3 series, Cadillac ATS and even the Mercedes Benz C-Class.  Infiniti claims that the Q30 is its debut to the world as a precursor to their product portfolio expansion which they will use to launch themselves into new premium segments of the market.
The car looks almost like a crossover because of its height and body design.  The car features all weather capability and has a beautifully designed body.  The car has a sporty yet elegant and very utilitarian look all at the same time.  It features Infiniti’s signature lines and spoiler.

Q50

The Q50 was showcased at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.  The Q50 was designed as an entry level Sports sedan.  It featured all the modern amenities you can think of including a 3.7 liter V6 engine, luxurious amenities on the interior of the car, along with its superb and iconic Infiniti Style on the exterior.  The futuristically designed light leather interior features touch screen displays, a killer sound system and uber-comfortable leather seats.

Its engine and transmission system are playing towards the rise in the popularity of manual vehicles in the US.  It features a seven speed gearbox and has 328 horsepower.  The vehicle also features a forward emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control, backup collision preventions, forward collision warning, and even blind spot intervention.
Infiniti keeps wowing people with their innovative and futuristic concepts.  If you are in the market for a great vehicle, Infiniti is never a wrong choice.  Go see a dealer and find out which one of these luxury cars is right for you and will suit your lifestyle.  It is important to find a knowledgeable and reputable dealership that is intimately familiar with all of the products in the Infiniti lineup.
