When you're going on holiday it can seem like you are leaving your business just sitting there to gather dust. It's not like you can take your desktop with you. You'd get some funny looks walking through customs with a giant screen on your shoulder. Things still need to be done. It's not like you can go away and forget about everything if you don't have someone who can come in and take your place.
You don't need to worry about that anymore. All you really need is a tablet computer and you're set. Smart phones are fine if you're just taking phone calls or maybe answering a few emails. Laptops could be good if you want to sit around in the same place all day. Here are some great things you can do with a tablet that leave the others in the dust.
Take it anywhere
Tablets are extremely portable. Not as portable as a mobile phone, but you can put it inside your backpack and take it anywhere and you won't even notice. Finish up some important articles as you lie next to the pool sipping on your special cocktail. You can even take it with you and finish some work on the bus.
Once you discover the power of a tablet you'll realize you can take a lot more holidays than you think. It's like you are carrying around the office with you right in your hand. The only thing you need to worry about is whether you will be able to put it down.
It's highly functional
The amount of things you can do with a tablet is much higher than your trusty mobile. Maybe not quite so much as a laptop, but that doesn't really matter. Most of the screens these days are just as big as you'll find on a small laptop anyway. You won't have any problems with more advanced tasks.
One of the biggest things that lets a tablet down is the lack of a keyboard. No doubt it will take you longer to type something. This doesn't really matter for short emails or social updates, but it could do for drafting documents. But now you can hook up an external keyboard and you're good to go.
Great battery life
Nobody likes getting into the zone and banging out some great work, only for the battery to die on you. Although laptop battery life keeps on improving it's still no match for a good tablet. You won't have to worry about running out of battery unexpectedly.
It's not like you're going to be carrying around a charger all the time. Even if you did you can't be guaranteed there will be a socket available. Sometimes you can't even use one if it's there. You know everyone will be thinking the same as you, and every Starbucks you go to always has their sockets being used.
Have you ever seen someone walking around with a laptop in front of them trying to take a picture. Probably not, because they'd look completely off their head. Most tablets have a camera built in and if you want to take a picture with it you'll look completely sane.
Your tablet will also come with a video recorder so you can take high quality videos of your favourite sites. If you feel a little homesick you can even use it to video chat with someone across the other side of the world. You can also get your groove on listening to some music on long journeys. It sounds great.
