Airbus pilots will use iPad in flight

The iPad is used in many workplaces on the ground and now they are about to go someplace much higher. That’s because Airbus has announced that it has become the first aircraft manufacturer to provide the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) performance-calculating apps for Pilots on the iPad. Airbus pilots can download the app from the App Store and then use it in flight.

The app is an alternative to the traditional PC operating system EFB devices. With it, pilots can compute performance calculations, and look at Airbus’ Flight Operations Manuals. The benefit is that all of the info is in one handy device.
It sounds good to me, as long as pilots are concentrating on flying the plane and not playing Angry Birds or other games.
