YouTube is one of the most popular sites on the internet. Millions of people visit the site every day to browse through the massive video content on the site and share videos with friends on other social networks. Thanks to YouTube to mp3 converters, it is even possible to rip the audio from videos and listen to the audio while on the go. However, it can help to have some direction regarding what is worth watching and listening to.

Here are top 10 most watched videos on YouTube in 2012:

10. Baby kitten hugged by cat mom. This is a fitting closer to the top 10 list. As the title indicates, it's a mother cat hugging her shaking baby kitten in a moment of Zen. There are currently more than 44 million views of this video.

9. Volkswagen Commercial: The Force. This classic debuted during the Superbowl and has shown its staying power since. The cuteness of it will appeal to Star Wars fans, fans of kids, Volkswagen drivers, and most happy people. There are currently more than 53 million views of this video.

8. Maria Aragon cover of Born This Way by Lady Gaga. Another competitor for the cuteness and earnesty award, this video features a young girl singing a shiveringly moving cover of Born This Way while playing the piano. There are currently more than 50 million views of this video.

7. The Creep (featuring Nicki Minaj and John Waters) by The Lonely Island. Another showing by The Lonely Island, The Creep essentially describes what not to do when approaching people, and is well worth the watch. There are currently more than 59 million views of this video.

6. Karmin Music cover of Look At Me Now by Chris Brown (featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes). This is perhaps the most technically impressive video on the list. It's a cover that makes you want to see the original before going back to view more covers by the duo. There are currently more than 63 million views of this video.

5. The original Nyan Cat. This video is simply fun to watch, or annoying, depending on one's perspective. It features a pastry cat flying through space to a repetitive synthesized vamp reminiscent of 80s video games. There are currently more than 30 million views of this video.

4. Part Two of Talking Twin Babies. This is a sequel to a video that became popular last year featuring a pair of twin toddlers who use baby talk with each other in an apparently animated conversation about life, love, and taxes. There are currently more than 71 million views of this video.

3. Jack Sparrow (featuring Michael Bolton) by The Lonely Island. The Lonely Island have scored a number of hits since their epic debut "I'm on a boat." Jack Sparrow features the trio attempting to sing a standard number about the dance club lifestyle over the repeated interruptions of Michael Bolton providing an homage to Pirates of the Caribbean star Jack Sparrow. There are currently more than 77 million views of this video.

2. The Top Dog Tease. The top dog tease is essentially one and a half minutes of a German shepherd that appears to be talking while his master talks about all the treats he didn't give it. It's funny enough for dog lovers. There are currently more than 104 million views of this video.

1. Friday by Rebecca Black. Rebecca Black became an online sensation with her quirky debut music video about going out with her friends at the end of the school week. With more than 30 million views since it was reuploaded to YouTube, the video has frequently been parodied, dubbed, and converted to audio for personal enjoyment via YouTube to mp3 converters.
